The common features – services for all the Merkur packages Standard Medical Services
- Admission check-up by the prescribing physician (first – second day of stay),
- 3 times a week a visit by the prescribing physician,
- ECH (as required),
- 24-hour on-call medical service.
Standard non-medical services
- National and regional channels,
- Full-board meal plan,
- Every-day admission into the Aqua and Fitness Centres
Everyday activities (except on Sundays) – Defined by the doctor, depending on the patient’s health conditions
- 2 x physical therapies (ultrasonic therapy, electro-therapy, magnetic therapy, Bioptron lamp, IR lamp, paraffin therapy, cryo-therapy…),
- Balneal therapies with mineral waters (drinking of mineral waters, bathing in bathtubs, inhalations, clysts, vaginal douche…),
- Education within “School of Diabetes”,
- Physical activities (group walks, aquabic, exercising with a personal trainer…).
Services included in the package
- 1 x consultancy check-up by the nutritionist (first – second day of stay): Anthropometric parameters, advising on diet and caloric intake, Personalized Diet Plan base on three meals and snacks (if required);
- Extended laboratory analysis (second day of stay): blood count, cholesterol, triglycerides, creatinine, glycemia, urine, sedimentation, glycolyzed haemoglobin HbA1c, LDL, HDL and microalbuminuria);
- 1 x daily glycemia profile (second day of stay);
- 1 x consultancy check-up by the endocrinologist;
- On Wednesdays – Interactive workshop with an endocrinologist (current topics on diabetes);
- 1 x admission check-up by physical therapist (Daily plan of therapies);
- 1 x consultancy session with a trainer (Individual plan of physical activities);
- 1 x final consultation with the prescribing physician (Self-control upon returning home).
Additional services – Defined by the endocrinologist at the first check-up, depending on the patient’s health conditions:
- Glycemia control (on an empty stomach and postprandially) during the stay or prior to the release,
- A control check-up by the endocrinologist (as required),
- 1 x check-up by an ophtalmologist or (if the patient has had his/her eyes tested recently, he/shall get a check-up by another specialist/sub-specialist that the patient needs the most).
